SkyGrid is unique and functional way of keeping up-to-date with the latest news from your favourite sources – all in one app! This app has been rated as an App Store Best of 2011 app and has received praise from notable sources such the New York Times.

With SkyGrid, the news is delivered to your app in the apps trademark Photo Grid. The Photo Grid shows you the latest stories in beautiful high-resolution images. The layout is intuitive and easy to use. The app opens on the Top News page which shows you the latest news from a variety of topics.

The next section is the Your News page where you can add a news feed from the providers of your choice. Choose from different categories such as business, entertainment, health or politics and then select the news source. Each section contains a comprehensive list of providers. When you’ve found an article that interests you, tap on it to open and read it. You can share the articles on Twitter, Facebook and via e-mail and iMessage as well as read it in Instapaper or Safari.

Apart from choosing your sources for news, there aren’t many customizable options, except that you can choose which notifications you to receive. When you go into your device’s setting you have the option of receiving notifications for What’s Hot, Most Popular, Also in the News and Following. This is a good feature for ensuring that you don’t end up with too many notifications popping up on your screen.

Overall this is a great app if you’re an avid news follower. It stops you from having to check your different sources individually and makes keeping in touch with events in your favourite niche easier than before.
