See yourself differently with FatBooth
Need some motivation as to why you shouldn’t have that second round of pudding? See yourself fat and be horrified for life!
FatBooth is a delightfully fun app, which you can download off the Android market for free, proving hours of entertainment as you snap photos of yourself and loved ones and watch is it magically transforms the person into a fatty.
The interface is simple, with a fun and quirky hamburger as the logo. All you have to do is snap a photo of yourself or one of your loved ones, or else select a photograph from your gallery. Once you have done that, the photograph will appear on the screen in the FatBooth app. Simply click start and watch as the app instantly adds kilograms onto your face, making you a much fatter version of yourself. It’s hilarious to see and never gets old. It’s also the perfect trick to stop you hitting too many burgers this weekend as your ego will be shocked at how your face changes and what you look like with a bit of extra weight.
The great thing about this app is that you don’t need to be connected to the internet to use it, it works instantly right in front of your eyes. This is a huge plus if you want to play around with it in an area with low connectivity. It also doesn’t eat away at your battery life because of this. The only trick is that you have to take a photograph of the person’s face, straight from the front. If you don’t align the eye markers and the mouth marker accurately to the face of the person, the picture will just turn out looking distorted and slightly ghoulish. However if you take a photograph of someone’s face straight from the front, it is easy to line up the eye and mouth markers.
The app uses face detection to perform its function, working like magic. It also uses this technology to crop the photo automatically. A fun feature included is that when you shake your phone, it shows the before and after photographs. I’m not normally a fan of shaking features, but with such a light and entertaining app, it works really well and is a great addition.
Even more entertaining is that you can share the results in a range of ways including email, Facebook and Twitter. You can also save all of the results in your Android smart phone’s gallery, providing you with easy access to the photographs. This gives you the option of posting the embarrassing results from your friends’ faces online and sitting back while they cringe. But it’s all fun and games because at least they’re the ones in the ‘before’ versions!
I would give this app a 4-star rating as it serves its function and it serves it well. It’s both fun and entertaining to use, very simple to navigate and provides a lot of eye-opening, fat versions of the person photographed, which is hilarious to view.
