AK Notepad is exactly what the name suggests, a notepad for your Android smart phone. Make a new note on the lovely looking notepad-like paper every time you need to remember something or have to do things like draw up a shopping list. You can use the ‘menu’ button to edit your notes and change the titles, so that you can keep track of them.

Once you’ve saved a note, you can set a reminder on your phone so that the note will pop up at the appropriate time. I found this works far more effectively (and neatly) than writing down appointments on your hand or sticking them to the fridge to try and remember.

My favourite feature when it comes to the AK Notepad app is that once you have saved a note, you can share it using Bluetooth, email, Gmail, messaging, Skype, Wi-Fi, among others. This is incrediably convenient if you write out a shopping list and need to add to it or edit it. Once you’re done, you simply send it off to your partner to make sure the shopping gets done. This also works fantastically with notes you take down during meetings or if you remember something that needs to be passed on to your colleagues. You simply type up the notes and then share, so that everyone has a copy of them without wasting a single piece of paper.

If there is something very important that you need to remember throughout your day, you can also stick notes to your home screen so that you are constantly reminded. This works very well if there is something you need to remember to do after work, like pick up milk.

What is great about AK Notepad is that you can customize it to suit your style and preferences where the Settings options offer all sorts of variety. With the Themes section, you can change the colour from original to black and white, to plain, to green or to rosy pink. You can also change the font and the text size and customize your notepad to either have horizontal lines or no horizontal lines.

All of your notes are neatly organized with the use of tags so that you can categorize everything accordingly. For more important notes, like the ones taken during important work meetings, you can back up your notes by syncing them easily and securely via the Settings options. This ensures your notes will always be available to the user online. Password protection will also keep your notes safe from prying eyes.

This is an app that does what it was created to do and it does it well and with style. I would give it a 4-star rating and recommend it to anyone who likes to jot ideas or notes down.
