How to make a conference call on Android

Want to tell your family your news all at once? Need to discuss something urgently with all of your colleagues? Learn how to use conference call on your Android smart phone and make dialing a pleasure.

It’s difficult to know who to call first when you have an urgent request for those you work with or have exciting news to share with your whole family. Sometimes you need to discuss something important with more than one person, getting feedback and a discussion going between a group of people. If you have an Android smart phone, conference calling makes this all very simple to achieve so it will be like you’re sitting in the very same room with those you’re on the phone to.

Most Android smart phones have settings that are already featured on the phone, allowing the user to make a conference call, however it depends on the device. Depending on your Android smart phone manufacturer, you should be able to consult the specific website or manual to learn how to use conference call on your phone. However if you are struggling with this or are finding it difficult, the best thing to do is to browse through the array of apps on the Android market and decide which one is the best for you.

Moshi, for example, is a free app on the Android market, developed by Alex Lopatin that allows you to use your Android smart phone as well as Skype or GTalk to make a conference call. The app is simple to use, where all you have to do is type in the names of the contacts or the numbers and push ‘Start Conference Call’ to dial of the recipients at the same time. The greatest thing about this app is that the recipients don’t have to have Moshi to receive your conference call either.

Another famous app on the Android market is Talk2Group, which is also free. It includes nice features and is well organized, where you enter a subject for the call, add your contacts and invite them to the group call. It’s a little more complicated than Moshi, but allows for recipients to accept invitations to the group call and lets everyone included in the conference call to wait for everyone to become available. Talk2Group allows the user to review call histories and monitors who is using the app, assisting in terms of security.

Free conference calls by Two App Guys is another one on the market to give a try. It works differently to the others in that when you start a new conference, you are given a telephone number, conference number and moderator pin but the great thing is that it is all absolutely free too.

Sometimes video conferencing can also be effective when trying to communicate with a group of people. The Android market also caters to this, providing a variety of apps for video conferencing including Tango and ooVoo Video Call. This means that depending on your preferred method of contacting people while unable to do so face-to-face, there are many options and platforms available to you.

Conference calling can be a great way to liaise with families, loved ones and work colleagues and is incredibly simple and cheap to do with an Android smart phone.
