Become a poet with Poet’s Pad

Your poems will never go missing or lose significance with this app, so keep those creative juices flowing.

It is of great pleasure to know that not only is there an app for poets on the Android market, but that there is one that is as functional and as beautiful as Poet’s Pad. This is an app for anyone who likes to try their hand at poems and rhymes, offering a bit of organization, inspiration and a lot of help.

The app is a pleasure to use, breaking up your content by stanza so that you can work on each one line at a time. With ‘Get Ideas’, ‘My Ideas’ and ‘Export’ as tabs on the bottom of the screen, your options are laid quite simply and conveniently in front of the user. I especially like how the content is broken up into stanzas so you feel as though you are working on separate parts at one time, carefully putting the words together. When there is just one blank screen in front of me, I often find I rush through the poem, missing the little details. It also makes it easier to edit and swap around words, phrases or stanzas, improving your poem.

If you’ve ever written a poem before, you know how difficult it is to find words that rhyme. This is why Poet’s Pad is so fantastic, offering word rhyme suggestions whenever you’re searching for some help. Simply input the vowel that you need and it will generate a lot of options for you.

What’s more is that by inserting the mood that you are going for, like ‘angry’, it will search for other of words and phrases that relate to the mood, assisting you in finding the right tone, words and content for your poem. This feature is termed as the ‘emotion based idea generator’ and is handy when you’re searching for the right words, but can’t seem to find them.

The dictionary and thesaurus included on the app are also very useful, ensuring that you are using words with the correct meaning or can find alternative words that still retain the meaning that you want. This spruces up your poems as well as increases your vocabulary.

The most aesthetically pleasing part of this app is the beautiful, crafted scroll, ink pen complete with a feather and cursive scrawl. It just begs for you to sit down and write a lovely poem.

The app is also highly functional, allowing you to export all of the poems that you work on via email. If you type up a love poem for your partner, you simply email it to him or her with the click of a button. This is also great for when you want to send it to someone to look over or would like to publish it on a blog.

I would give this a 5-star rating and recommend it for any budding poet. It is fantastic to have an app that allows you to store all of your poems in one place, no longer having to draft on scraps of paper that get lost in a bedside draw. Even if you don’t use the suggested ideas generated, it helps to get your thoughts and creative ideas flowing.
